Jennifer Finney Boylan, an internationally known transgender advocate, presented a public lecture on Thursday, Feb. 25th, 2016 at
7 pm in Fuller Theater
. The free event was open to the public with a book signing following the presentation. A series of campus events preceded her visit.

About the Author

Jennifer Finney Boylan is an author, professor, and activist.  She is the author of thirteen books, including the nonfiction books She's Not there, Stuck in the Middle with You, and I'm Looking Through You, and her latest fiction workI'll Give You Something To Cry About.

Born in 1958, Boylan graduated from Wesleyan University and earned her MFA from Johns Hopins University.  She taught at Colby College for many years and is now the Anna Quindlen Writer In Residence at Barnard College of Columbia University.  In addition, Boylan is national co-chair of the Board of Directors of GLAAD and is on the Board of Trustees of the Kinsey Institute for Research on Sex, Gender, and Reproduction.

She is an op-ed contributor to The New York Times and has appeared regularly on television and the radio in the United States and internationally.  Her appearances include The Oprah Winfrey Show, Live With Larry King, I am Cait, All My Children (where she played herself), and beyond.  

Boylan.lives in New York City and Belgrade Lakes, Maine , with her wife, Deirdre, and her sons Zach and Sean.
